Gaea is a strange world. While it does feel somewhat midevil fantasy, it has that wierd "only-in-Japanese-Anime" merger between a fantasy style world and strange technology. This strange technology apparently enables giant mecha suits, called "Gaimelif", piolted by knights. I had known for a long time that this animated series existed. I remembered seeing the VHS tapes in the "Family" section of movies at retailers like Electronics Boutique or Best Buy, back in the days of VHS of course. In my quest for quality fantasy anime, I am often times taken in by nice box art and intriguing synopses on the back cover of the box, especially on value priced complete DVD collections. As was the case when I noticed the "Sorcerer Hunters" complete collection at my local Best Buy. The price was right, I forget the exact amount but it was about $40 retail. There are three things I'm a sucker for in an Anime series those are: fantasy, detailed animation, and an epic dramatic plot. First I remember the trailers for this movie back 5 years ago and being semi-intruged but after seeing "The Lion King" I had sworn off Disney many years ago. (For the record I do enjoy the classic Disney films, and I did like Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast...but Lion King was well...not my cup of P.C. tea so to speak.)
