About Light-Crystal.net

Light-Crystal.net - The Light Crystal Network - is a network of web sites that are all personal projects of one person, the webmaster of this domain. That person is also the author of all the content you will read. My name is Matthew, though I go by Paladin on the 'net.

Light-Crystal.net is not only "my space" on the net; it is also a portal to the other content-driven web sites for my various personal hobbies within the "network".

Mission Statement

Quality and Quantity; quality web design and a comprehensive quantity of quality content are the mission of all Light Crystal Network web sites. My goal is to create intuitive, easy to use, functional, efficiently coded, creatively designed, and aesthetically pleasing web domains.

Furthermore, I am continually improving my marketable skills in the computer & information sciences, namely dynamic web development. The web sites of the Light Crystal Network are a place for me to apply these skills and to provide a testimonial to their practical application.

The goal of the content driven fan-sites are to provide concise, official, and complete information on the given topics at hand as well as maintaining the above global goals of the site.

Development

All the Light Crystal Network sites, except PaladiNet.com, are dynamic server scripted web sites. Each has been completely developed from the ground up for the purposes I have chosen. None are pre-built portals like DotNetNuke or CommunityServer. A large portion of the back-end design and data management were developed by and with a friend and mentor, 'Upheaval' as he goes online, my former supervisor from a previous job. From him I learned many of the design principles and borrowed some code he designed as a basis for building the Light Crystal web sites.

Domains

The official URL for the Light Crystal Network is Light-Crystal.net, however Light-Crystal.com and Light-Crystal.org redirect to Light-Crystal.net.

Other domains which are a part of the Light Crystal Network are FinalFantasyIV.net, FinalFantasyV.net, and FinalFantasyVI.net. Paladin's old domain, PaladiNet.com, may also be considered a part of the Light Crystal Network however it is currently hosted by a different web host than SeekDotNet. All six of these domains are registered and owned by Paladin.

None of my domains are or planned to be offered for sale or transfer to other individuals or entities.

About the Owner / Webmaster, Paladin

I began building simple static web pages around 1999 at age 18 when I started classes at IUPUI (Indiana-University, Purdue-University at Indianapolis). At first it was for a project requirment, and later an extension of my personal hobbies. Though mostly self taught, web development became a possible carreer option while I moved my major towards computer software with the Computer Science curriculum at IUPUI.

In 2004 I was privledged to develop the domain industrial-water.com for my former employer Industrial Water Chemists. I migrated the code for another of their web sites from another host and built the WCI website for them.

By August of 2005 I had graduated from the Purdue School of Science with a B.S. in Computer Science. Shortly thereafter I landed a job as an ASP.NET Web Developer at the Indianapolis-based headquarters of Klipsch Audio Technologies, the makers of the popular Klipsch brand of speakers as well as Jamo, Energy and Mirage brands. I worked here for three years and learned a great deal of technical and business experience in my burgeoning carrer path. However, due to the economic downturn at the end of 2008 I was impelled to seek other employment as KGI downsized.

Beginning in December of 2008, I am currently employed as an outright .NET Application Developer with the rapidly growing technology company Synovia Inc. They supply a combined hardware, software, and consulting solution for the GPS tracking of mobile vehicle fleets, with an emphasis on the pupil transportation (school bus) industry. Here I work on the browser-based GPS Tracking software application and I have also rebuilt the company's web site.

Furthermore, over the years I have run four different personal web domains since 1999, including Light-Crystal.net, PaladiNet.com, Paladin.5u.com, and ff4.50megs.com, these mostly contained content dealing with the Square(-Enix) video game software "Final Fantasy IV".
